Since then, the show has aired for 23 seasons, which makes it the longest running US sitcom AND the longest running animated show. Matt Groening created The Simpsons in 1989. Indeed, all of the characters on The Simpsons are intense exaggerations of other television sitcom stereotypes. He makes Ray Romano look like a genius in comparison. But Homer Simpson, the patriarch, is clueless to a fault. It’s a classic sitcom premise, with a clueless dad, his long-suffering wife, and their kids. The Simpsons also has similarities to another prime time cartoon, The Flintstones. ( The Simpsons features a much bigger ensemble than Scooby Doo though.) It’s a long-running television series with a huge fan base and an ensemble cast. The Simpsons actually has similarities to Scooby Doo, the other great example of a cartoon that was converted into a game of Cluedo. The Simpsons version of the game is so popular that it’s been published in at least three different editions, maybe more. (An example of a licensed Clue game that DOES have different rules and variations is Clue: Harry Potter.) The only difference is the use of the characters and settings from the television series The Simpsons to make the game more appealing to fans of the show. The game doesn’t include any rules variants or new instructions.
